Leah was certainly a delightful person; she was adored by everyone she knew and met. As parents, you did a wonderful job raising Leah, and Matt as well. The memorial fund is a wonderful way to continue Leah's enthusiastic spirit. The three of you are an inspiration to the rest of us in that you are working so diligently to create something positive from such a tragedy. May the Peace of Christ continue to be within each of your hearts and give you new strength to face each new day. It was certainly our pleasure to have known Leah; we think about her so often. We know that she is no doubt very pleased with your efforts and determination to make a difference in other's lives in her behalf. Blessings, Chuck, Kaye, Travis & Traci Russell

Dear Don, Candy, and Matt, Thank-you for sharing Leah with us for many special events and for cheerleading. She loved to be a cheerleader so much and with her spirit she was very good at it. Also thank-you for leaving her be there often for Tanya, Tanya counted her as a very special friend. She had so much spirit it was hard to stay down long around Leah. She will be missed very much!!! You can see just by being at her viewing and funeral how well thought of she was. You have raised two really great children and you can both be very proud of them. Matt, I know you and Leah had your brother and sister fights as all siblings do but she loved you very much, and when we were with her she often talked about you. You will always have the good memories of you and her and your family to remember her by. If ever we can do anything please feel free to call. If you need help with her fund raiser you know Bill and I will be more than glad to help!!!! Bill and Jean Shellenberger

Memories are what we live through and Leah will always be remembered. She was such a bright and loving person and touched the lives of many. I will never forget her laugh or her brilliant smile. Candy, Don, and Matt, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will never lose the memories I have of Leah. Love Always, Abby Harmon
As kids in middle school, I considered Leah a good friend. Thinking back, I have only good memories of her--that's just the kind of person she was. Even as we became acquaintances during and after high school, she had no problem saying "Hi, how are you?" I regret not staying in touch, but I don't regret knowing her. Missing Leah after distant years is a testimony of how she touched lives. Thanks to the family for this website and information, you'll be in my prayers. In Christ, Ashley W.
Don, Candy, and Matt. I would just like to say how very privileged I am to have known Leah, and all of you. I think very highly of your family. Leah was a great person with a large heart, and there was once a time when I thought of her almost as a sister. She was a very cheerful person to be around, and she had the gift of always being able to make people smile and cheer them up. I will miss her dearly, but deep inside I know that she will always be in everyone's hearts. My thoughts and prayers will always be with you. Love, Sarah Robison
Leah was a wonderful, beautiful, kind, thoughtful girl who touched everyone's life that she knew. She was beautiful inside and out. Laurie Fichtner

Leah I knew you through South Hills School and I know that you are very much missed from here and also from my heart. Apryle Hoover
As Central's cheerleading coach, I've come across many girls that have school spirit, but none quite like Leah. I will use her as an example of what a cheerleader should be- fun, friendly, and most of all school spirited. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to get to know such a wonderful young lady. Thank you for keeping her memory alive. Love, Niki Hinton

Leah was an amazing person that I am glad I was able to meet. She treated all of Matt's friends as if they were her own personal friends. I know how close of a family you all are and how important she was to the three of you. I'm glad that I have been able to get to meet all of you and was able to share in the joy of how great a heart Leah had. Matt, I am glad that we have been able to become great friends this past year. You are one of my best friends and I know that you would be here for me anytime that I would need you. Please remember Don, Candy, and Matt that I am here if any of you need anything. You have shown me the true meeting of generosity and have treated all of Matt's new friends as if they were all part of your family. Family and Friends of Leah, The idea for a camera for the firemen is a really good idea. I send my most heartfelt sympathy, and wish you to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I knew Leah only in passing at high school, but I also knew there was a light in her that made her glow with cheer, and I think this webpage truly reflects the joyful and beautiful young woman that she is. Know that you as family and friends are in God's hands and that Leah is in God's hands too. May your love for God and each other give you hope and peace for each passing day. God bless you and keep your faith strong. And we pray that the camera fund will be successful and helpful to save many lives in the future. God bless your mission to reach out to others. Thank you for sharing this webpage with others as well. In sympathy and Christian love -Jennifer (Reeve) Bistline

The memories that Leah has left with us will last throughout our lives. I look at her smiling face each day through pictures and remember all the joy she brought to our home. My heart still struggles each day to understand the meaning of that sweet angel being taken so quickly. Many tears are still shed and not a day goes by that I don’t think about you all (Candy, Don and Matt). The love and closeness your family shared shaped her into the kind, caring, beautiful and bright girl that everyone now remembers and deeply misses. It was evident she loved you all deeply and that her family was her priority. As she watches over us from heaven we can only be reminded that she’s in the air we breathe each day, she’s in the sunlight bright, she’s in the breeze that gently blows, and the moon and stars at night. Her love will remain here on earth forever. We love you Leah..rest in peace sweet angel.
This web page is special, like Leah was. I really miss her. We thought of her and your family today at church and had a candle in rememberance of her. We also had Randy Acker speak on the equipment your are raising money for and our church is going to raise money for it. God bless you family through this hard time and for ever. Holly Risser
I just recently met Leah through South Hills. Through that short period of time, it was easy to see what kind of person she was. Someone from a loving family with a kind heart, beautiful inside and out. I was lucky to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and all those who love her. Cathy
After knowing someone for such a long time, it's so hard to imagine life knowing you won't see their beautiful face again. I've known Leah since we were in elem. school when we used to play at her grandparents with their rabbits. Then years later, cheering with Leah was always a trip. Leah was a wonderful, devoted friend. She was someone who was always saying something to make you laugh or doing something goofy. There were no dull moments when that girl was around. Even if things weren't going her way, she would still be making some kind of funny comment to even laugh at herself. I've never met anyone with such passion and love for life and people. It's no wonder so many have an empty space in their hearts. I am just thankful to have so many great memories with Leah that I will never forget. Everyday you guys are in my prayers and thank you so much for the wonderful effort you have put into keeping Leah's memory and spirit alive. You don't get the kind of spirit Leah had without having a wonderful, supportive family behind you like she always has. Please keep me posted & if you need anything, do not hesitate to call. *Love&Miss you Leah*<3 -Gretchen Stern
<3I am so glad I was apart of Leah's life. I have known Leah since we were in Kindergarten. All the birthday parties we had, sleep overs, oh this list could go on and on. Don, Candy, and Matt I am glad you are keeping her spirit alive because I know she is still and always will be in everyone's hearts. Leah, we all miss you so much. You could always brighten up anyone's day. My prayers are with you, you are missed dearly<3 Love ya, Emily Clouse <3
Leah may be gone but I know my family and Lisa and I will always remember her. Lisa and I will be continue to donate to the library and to the MFD. Ken & Lisa Hartung and family
Candy, Don, & Matt; This is the first time I've been to Leah's web site. It's beautiful! As she was a beautiful person! We are collecting money for the fund here at Clover Creek. Blessings and prayers to you! Pastor Dave
A day doesn't go by that I don't think of you....I miss you so much....wish you were here...life isn't the same without you.
Leah was such a beautiful, kind girl. The world is truly missing an angel, but she is always in our thoughts and prayers. Bless the Hoover family as they keep Leah's memory alive. Betsy (Ayers) Williams
Kevin Schneider and Megan Loucks want you to know that if there is ever anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask.
From the day I started teaching with Candy I have known her to be a most caring and giving person. She raised a daughter with those exact same traits. Leah was like a breath of fresh air when you saw her - always smiling! I appreciated how she took Megan under her wing when Megan first tried out for cheerleading in sixth grade. It was like having a big sister. All three of us miss her greatly but know she will never gone because she will always be in our hearts. Don, Candy, and Matt - you are a truly strong family. Please know our thoughts and prayers are always with you. Love, Bill, Jeanne, and Megan
Even though I haven't expressed this to you previously, I want you to know that I have been thinking of you and your family since I heard of Leah's death. My sympathy goes to you as you cope through the days in her absence. May God's peace intervene and fill you in your times of need. May your memories bring you joy and laughter. Continual prayers on your behalf are lifted up. Also, as my sister commented earlier, I think the camera is an excellent idea. May it be overwhelming to you to see the response and result of what your dedication to this project yields. Peace be with you. Erin Reeve
We love your website you have created and made in the memory of Leah. We all liked Leah very much, she always made us smile when she walked thru the door. She is sadly missed, what a special person! Everyone at Tame Your Mane Styling Salon.
I grew up with Leah in grade school, until I moved away at the end of 5th grade. She was always a great friend and even though I hadn't talked to her recently, if she saw me she would always say hello with that beautiful smile. Leah is a great role model for any young girl to follow. I will remember her always. Barb Koontz (Hileman)
Don, Candy, and Matt, I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Leah personally but my sister Mandy was good friends with her. When I heard about her death I was so in shock and so was Mandy. Her life was cut too short. She had so much to live for. My prayers are with your family in this difficult time. A guardian angel is watching over you now from above showering u with love. Matt, we miss u at work and I'm always here for u in anything u need. I love your website. It's a perfect way of showing everyone all the people that Leah touched in her life. The idea for the camera is a great idea for the firemen. I hope it will save lives in future fires. Maybe we can avoid another tragic fire. Angela Holsinger
Matt, I think about you a lot. I hope that you are doing well and I will continue to pray for you and your family. Shannon Thompson (Past co-worker at the Spring House Restaurant)

Leah was the best friend I have ever had -- as well as the best friend I ever expect to have. I have so many wonderful memories of her. It's horribly difficult going to class each day knowing I can't talk and laugh with her. We were all blessed by the unforgettable moments spent with her. I can only hope that one day I'll be lucky enough to see her again. Deeply loved and missed -- Danielle Imler

Thinking of You with Love on Your Birthday We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name. All we have are memories, and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we will never part. God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts. A million times we`ve wanted you. A million times we cried. If love could only have saved you, you never would have died. It broke our hearts to lose you. But you didn`t go alone. For a part of us went with you... the day God called you Home. Love always, Dad, Mom, & Matt

I still can't believe this is real! We all miss you SOOOOOOOOO much! I feel so cheated. Many of your friends are getting married or having babies or both! It's so hard to watch. I would have given anything if it could have been me that night instead. And I have nothing of yours from that night to hold on to. Many times I wish I wouldn't have taken the coroner's advice and held you and perhaps found some jewelry you had on that I could always keep close to me. I think about you all the time. It's supposed to get easier but that hasn't happened yet. It is so hard being here without. Our lives will never be the same. Love you forever! Mom
Candy and Donnie, I wasn't around your kids very much as I worked at the farm, but it’s clear to me, not many young ladies her age were interested in helping so many people. She was amazing. Donnie always had time for one of us if we had a problem. It’s easy to see that you and Donnie were the big influence on her life. Your friends always, Shawn & Dolley Showalter.
Always on our minds. Forever in our hearts. Miss you SO very, very much!! Love, Dad, Mom, Matt
Thinking of you today and always……never forgotten…….Love, Rick, Bobbi, Nick and Josh
